Privacy and Security

• On your computer - Your profile, resumes, cover letters, applications, and settings are kept in a local database on your machine, not on our servers.
• Encrypted at rest - The local database is encrypted, with its key held in your operating system's keychain.
• Optional app lock - App Lock in Settings can require your fingerprint or a PIN before the app opens, which is useful on a shared computer.

• Writing stays local - Resume and cover letter generation runs on the model you downloaded. Your documents and profile are not sent away to be written.
• Account and license checks - The app contacts Abacaxi to sign you in, confirm your license or trial, and manage your devices.
• Downloads and updates - Model downloads and application updates come from the Abacaxi service. That is the only other traffic the app needs.

There is no advertising or profiling in the app, and your job search history is not used to build a profile of you.

• Take your data with you - Export your profile and a backup of the app database from the desktop app. Exporting is part of the paid license, so on a free trial the export buttons prompt you to upgrade first.
• Delete what is on your computer - Reset & Wipe All Data in Settings clears the local database and returns the app to a fresh state.
• Delete your account - Delete Account in Account Settings removes your Abacaxi account and the data attached to it.
