User Profile

Your profile is the expanded version of your resume. A resume has to fit on a page, so it leaves out most of what you have done. The profile keeps the whole picture, and the app reads it as context whenever it writes or rewrites a document.

What the Profile Holds

  • More than a resume fits. Every role with its full list of achievements, every skill set, your education, projects, interests, and work preferences.
  • It is context, not output. The profile is never sent anywhere or shown to an employer. The app uses it to choose what is relevant, so a fuller profile produces more specific resumes and cover letters.
  • Documents draw from it. Each resume and cover letter is written from a slice of the profile, which keeps every document consistent with the same facts.

Editing Your Profile

  1. Open the profile. Choose User Profile from the Abacaxi menu in the header.
  2. Work through the tabs. The page is split into Header & Preferences, Experience, Skills, Education, Projects, and Interests. Entries can be added, reordered, or removed inside each one.
  3. Save your changes. A banner confirms the save, or tells you what went wrong if it could not be stored.

Recreate Profile takes you back through the user profile creation with your current answers already filled in, so you can override individual parts. Resumes, applications, and other data are not affected.

Exporting and Importing a Profile

  • Export Profile. Writes the whole profile to a file you can keep as a personal backup or move to another computer. Use Export Profile at the bottom of the User Profile page.
  • Import Profile. Loads a profile file back in. Importing replaces everything currently in the profile, so the app asks you to confirm before it continues.
  • A paid feature. Both buttons are part of the paid license and prompt you to upgrade while you are on the free trial.
