Licensing & Activation
The desktop app is licensed to the device, not to a typed-in code. You sign in with your Abacaxi account, and the app registers the computer you are using. There is no license key to copy, paste, or keep safe.
Free Trial
- 7 days - The trial runs for one week from the moment you start it.
- One device - A trial registers a single computer. Your account can hold only one active trial device.
- Internet connection required - Trial validity is confirmed online, so the app cannot be used offline while you are on the trial.
- One trial per account and per device - Signing out, deleting the app, or reinstalling does not grant a second trial on the same computer.
- Some features stay locked - Database backup and restore, and profile import and export, are part of the paid license. Choosing them opens an upgrade prompt instead.
Paid License
- Up to 3 devices - One purchase covers three computers on the same account, for example a desktop and a laptop. The Account Settings page shows how many of the three are in use.
- Full offline use - A paid device key does not expire, so you can keep`` working with no connection at all.
- Every feature unlocked - Profile import and export, database backup and restore, and unlimited resume and cover letter generation.
Upgrading from the Free Trial
- Start the upgrade - Click Upgrade in the trial banner at the top of the app, or open Account Settings from your account menu in the top right corner and use the Unlock Full Application card.
- Complete the purchase - Checkout opens in your browser. Finish the purchase there and return to the desktop app.
- Reopen the app - Quit and reopen the desktop app so it registers a paid device key for this computer. The trial countdown disappears once the paid license is active.
Upgrading only changes your license record. Your profile, resumes, applications, and backups are left exactly as they are.
Managing Your Devices
Open Account Settings from your account menu in the top right corner to see and manage every device registered to your account.
- License status - The Desktop App License panel shows whether the account is Licensed, on a Free Trial, or has No License, together with the platform and an active device count such as 2 / 3.
- Device Keys - The Device Keys list shows each registered computer by name, the date it was registered, and its status.
- Revoking a device - Click Revoke next to a device to release its slot. The confirmation dialog warns that the device loses access and that the action cannot be undone.
- After a revocation - The revoked computer shows the Device Key Revoked screen the next time it checks in. From there you can reactivate it once a slot is free.
Revoking is how you free a slot when you reach the device limit, for example after replacing a computer.
Why a Device Can Be Blocked
- You are signed out - The app asks you to sign in before it can confirm your license or start a trial.
- The trial was already used - A computer that has already claimed a trial reports that a free trial has already been claimed on this device, and offers purchasing instead.
- You are offline - Trials need an online check, so an offline trial device is asked to reconnect. Paid licenses are unaffected by being offline.
